So it would make sense if we saw how Mon Mothma brought in this former Clone Wars commander to the Alliance side. He was a key part of the early Rebel Alliance victories. He also appeared in several episodes of Rebels. We saw him again (played by Game of Thrones actor Ian McElhinney) in Rogue One. General Jan Dodonna was the bearded and gruff leader of the Rebel forces on Yavin IV base in A New Hope. We fully expect to see Smits and Kessel make a welcome return in Andor at some point. Not to mention, Bail and Mon had ties in a secret organization working against Palpatine going as far back as Revenge of the Sith. From what we know from Rebels, they are already running missions as soon as just a year out from Andor. Especially by the time we get to Rogue One/A New Hope. Alderaanian senator Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits) and his wife Queen Breha (Simone Kessel), who most recently appeared in Obi-Wan Kenobi, are the backbones of the Alliance. Senator Bail Organa and Queen Breha Organa Lucasfilm Here’s who we expect Mon Mothma to recruit into the Alliance to Restore the Republic. But we still think that we’ll see some familiar faces in the hierarchy of the Rebels.

The Andor creators have stated that the series won’t be Easter egg-heavy. Lucasfilmīut in the rest of the season (and into season two), who will Mon Mothma recruit to the cause? Episode four of Andor already hinted at such events. You could even say that Genevieve O’Reilly, who plays Mon Mothma on the series, is a co-lead of a sort along with Diego Luna as the title character. Senator Mon Mothma of Chandrila is the leader of the Rebel Alliance by the time of the original trilogy, and her rise to that position is going to make for one of the key aspects of Andor.
